Because gold-filled and 18K Gold PVD are not solid gold, they require proper care to maintain their brilliance over time. Follow these steps to keep your DBL jewelry looking pristine for  years to come!

Our Materials & Gold Content Explained

We offer two distinct collections to fit your lifestyle. Here is what goes into each piece:

Wearing DBL Jewelry

Apply Products First: Make your jewelry the last step in your getting-ready routine. This prevents your pieces from snagging on clothing and protects them from contact with makeup, lotions, and perfumes.

Avoid Chemical Contact: Keep jewelry away from soaps, lotions, fragrances, and hair products. The chemicals in these items will strip the shine from your jewelry over time.

Know Your Water Exposure: Unless your piece is specifically from our Waterproof 18K Gold PVD Collection, remove it before showering, washing your hands, or swimming. Chlorine in pools and hot tubs will discolor and strip the outer coating.

Take Off Before Exercise: Sweat can accelerate tarnishing on gold-coated items. (Save workouts for your Water Safe Stainless Steel pieces!)

Remove Before Bed: Take off your necklaces, bracelets, and anklets before sleeping. Chains can easily catch on bedsheets and snap under pressure during the night.

Storing DBL Jewelry

  • Store your items in a cool, dry place such as the signature DBL velvet jewelry box included with your order.
  • Keep your collection away from extreme heat, humidity, and atmospheric moisture.

Cleaning DBL Jewelry

  • Gently wipe your pieces down with a soft, dry cloth made of 100% cotton or fine microfiber.
  • Never use chemical jewelry cleaners or harsh polishing liquids, as they will strip the gold layer off your jewelry.
